Softball Hitting/Defense

Jesse was a four year varsity starter throughout high school.  After high school he served four years active duty in the US Air Force.  He was stationed in Germany and North Dakota and deployed to Iraq once.  When his military service was complete, he attended UW-Stout where he played baseball for two years then transitioned into an assistant coach for three years.  Currently he plays shortstop for the Osseo Merchants in the Chippewa River Baseball League.

Nutrition

Melissa is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist who has always been passionate about health and fitness, which inspired her decision to pursue a profession in the nutrition field. Her mission is to help others achieve their goals whether it be improving athletic performance or general health and wellness. She meets individually with clients to set personal goals and provides them with nutrition education to meet those goals. Melissa’s professional career includes work at Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Eau Claire, University of Wisconsin-Stout, and is currently employed at Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District. Melissa is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as well as the Wisconsin Dietetic Association. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics and Master’s degree in Food and Nutritional Science from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

Softball Pitching

Scott is an Eau Claire native, who graduated from North High School in 1981. He attended the United States Naval Academy, graduating in 1985. Afterward, he embarked on a seven year helicopter pilot career, which included a combat tour in the Persian Gulf. He enjoyed pitching at high levels of fastpitch softball in Annapolis, Pensacola, and San Diego during his active duty years. Scott has coached at all levels of youth baseball and softball. His high school softball coaching career began at North High School in 2011 where he served as the pitching coach. He also coached at Fall Creek High School, and Bloomer High School.

Preston Benedict "Benny"

Baseball Pitching

Benny graduated from Monona Grove High School off the east side of Madison, WI in 2016, where he pitched at the varsity level for two years. After high school, Benny went on to pitch for the Cottage Grove Firemen for three seasons, a Home Talent League team dating back to 1929. In his second season with the team he was awarded “Night League MVP”, for his willingness to show up on Wednesday nights and pitch. Beginning in 2018-2019, Benny started his coaching career at Eau Claire Memorial under Dan Roehl. In 2020, Benny graduated from UWEC with a bachelor's degree in physics/math education. In 2021, Benny got a teaching position at Chippewa Falls High School, teaching math & physics. After spending 4 seasons with Memorial, Benny moved on to coach at Chippewa Falls High School under Mitch Steinmetz for the 2022-2023 season. Benny started with Turn 2 Athletics in 2020, helping out with 17u summer baseball and 18u fall baseball. Since that point, Benny has gotten certifications in both Rapsodo Baseball Pitching as well as Driveline Pitching and has become an invaluable member of the Turn 2 family, running pitching lessons and coaching teams. Outside of teaching and baseball, Benny enjoys spending time in Eagle River, WI hunting muskies!

Logan Matson

Baseball Hitting/Defense

Softball Hitting/Defense

Logan graduated from Neillsville High School in 2018. He went on to attend Olivet Nazarene University on a baseball scholarship. After starting for two years at Olivet he transferred back to Wisconsin ending his career at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. His first year at UWSP he started every game at short stop and helped the Pointers reach the D3 World Series. He played in three different summer leagues including two stints in the Northwoods League. In the summer of 2022 Logan underwent a Sports Performance internship at BRX performance in Milwaukee, where he was able to foster a passion in the field of sports performance. Logan graduated in the spring of 2023. Over the summer of 2023 he was the Assistant Coach of the Auburn DoubleDays of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL). 

Logan is currently a full time instructor at Turn 2 Athletics, as well as the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator.

Matt Miller

Baseball Hitting/Defense

Matt graduated from Eau Claire Memorial where he was 1st team all conference and 2nd team all state 1998. Matt attended UW-Stout 2000-2001 under Joe Vavra. He then ventured off to Western Oklahoma State College where he played 2 years of baseball with a .375 and 7 home run career there. Matt started his Amateur playing career in 1999 with the Beef River Bullfrogs, after 7 years with Bullfrogs Matt was recruited to play shortstop for the Eau Claire Cavaliers. Matt played 7 years with Eau Claire Cavaliers in the Wisconsin State League. He was voted team captain 6 times and voted team MVP  twice by his teammates. Matt then was asked to be an assistant coach with the Eau Claire Express (2013-2014). Matt then came back to manage the Eau Claire Cavaliers from 2015-2019. The Eau Claire Cavaliers were state champions in 2019. Matt was a manager/player for EC Cavaliers (2015-2019). Matt still continues to play amateur baseball when he can for the Eau Claire Bears in the Chippewa River Baseball League(CRBL). Matt is the all time stolen base king in the CRBL (144) and second all time in Cavalier stolen base history (121). Matt has been teaching and coaching baseball and softball for the past 12 years. Matt also has a lot of umpiring baseball under his belt and wants to start teaching umpiring because our youth and future needs more umpires. There is only one thing Matt likes more then baseball and that’s being a dad to his 7 year old daughter Averie Marie.
